Still Having a Modeling Issue

Post by PiedmontSlim »

This should be simple, but I've been fighting it for days. As a newbie I'm trying to figure it out.

I'd thought I'd start simple, an easy guitar body. I'm trying to put a taper on the heel.
I create the rails. If I use a straight line for the profile I almost get what I want. But, I want a slight arch.
If I put any curve at all in the profile line I get a mess.

I've played with rail order and direction, adding, subtracting.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Two rail sweeps can be tricky.
Here's an eps file for you to try.
It has the two rails and the profiles.
See the attached pictures for help...
The trick is to make the component bigger than you need and to then trim it using the vectors of the guitar body..
Hope this helps.

Thanks much. I'll use the file, but I'd like to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
