Timely Randall! :)
Spent 8 hours yesterday on the 6 key fobs on the right side of the board(and recutting 1 .005" deeper with a new bit and smaller stepover).
Not really happy with these first 6, so went back and re-imported at Max Res instead of the next best quality res for the left side of the blank.
Tomorrow is going to be a Loooong day :)
Being fussy is a Curse!
(but seeing as I can't carve worth a darn............. :D )

Bloodwood blank is 4X24X.2"
Actual Celtic Dragon model by Michael is shrunk to .8875" in the Y.

You get the pick of the litter Michael:)
Finished 3 of the Max Res ones last night at 10....1 more this morning, and then have to cut out or I'll never have the cutout sanded and give them the molten wax/oil overnight treatment, and ready for Saturday at Leo's.
only 10 instead of 18 :( :(
Just not up for all nighters anymore.
3 weeks of bed rest screwed me up, and too much to do since Sunday if I don't want to stick myself back in bed
Pics coming David :)

Oh...when we bought our second Desktop, it went into a small room in Tom Cote's workshop to be run by his son.
Tom is a fifth generation Acadian Master wood carver, and it was an honor to spend a few days with him!

The "Woodsman" is one of my favorites(see pic), and he could improve any of our carvings in minutes with a flick of a knife :D
While looking for that article, I noticed a carving by Dayton Carvings, and it led me to this Pinterest page;

It looks like hand carving is alive and well world round :)

Sorry for 'Jacking Randall.

Dave..pics hard to take from 'Chair while on machine...these were the most focused ones and the close-up are the 6 on the right I wasn't happy with....I had everything right, EXCEPT I forgot to drag it in at maximum resolution

OOPS...The one I liked only got third place :(
