Is there a way to see the v9 manual and clipart library images before upgrading?

Thank you,

I just upgraded from Vcarve Desktop v8.5 to Desktop 9 and I am very happy with all the improvements. But I do not understand why the ability to pull the list of Toolpaths out as a floating window was removed in V9.

In version 8 and 8.5 there was a small button on the bottom right of the screen (to the right of the "Show 2D Previews" and "Solid" check boxes. When that little button was clicked the "Toolpath Control" panel would open and it could be dragged around the screen.
This was very useful when a project had lots of toolpaths and you were trying to group toolpaths with the same tool together for saving.

Is there another way to do this now, or did we loose that little bit of functionality in V9?

Picture of what I am talking about is attached.

I installed the trial for Cut2d v9 and the post processor documentation is still dated 2014. Are there any new features?

I watched the YouTube video called "Cut2D Desktop What's New v9.0" ( At around 34:40 there is a check box option labeled "Project toolpath onto 3D model" near the bottom of the profile toolpath properties section (just below where it shows Home Position and Safe-Z). That area of the display on the trial version is blank. How does this option work? How do I enable the capability?

I expect the video was made using VCarve.

Adrian- I am hoping you can answer a V9 question for me. I am battling with other software and I am wondering if I can design in Aspire and export STLs for 3d printing- I know I can do it for one-sided models. I have a lot of experience with Aspire V8 and will upgrade to V9 if it will do what I desire. I want to do what is considered an undercut in V8 and produce a STL from it? This is a sample I have printed- I would like to add a feature to the bottom side and then export. Thanks Gene

Aspire handles top and bottom as two separate models. You cold export the top half of the model, and then export the bottom half of the model. You would need to merge them in a different software package.

Have you got the gadgets installed under 8.5 ? If you have then you can migrate them to V9 or you can copy & paste them. Think the migrate from older version option is under the help tab at top of screen but not got software on this laptop

I upgraded to V9 and now I am no longer able to import 3d models. Is anyone else having this problem or is it something that I am doing or not doing? An help would be greatly appreciated V8.5 is allowing me to import the same files.

Are you using the icon or menu item to import? If it's the icon make sure you're on the right tab. You can only import 3D models using the icon on the Modelling tab. The one on the Drawing tab will only import 2D models.

As Adrian mentioned, you can import a 3D model via the Model Menu (see screenshot)

Yes I am using the modeling tab and also the import under the file menu. Neither one would work I get the error message failed to load component data from file.
