Two Rail Sweep to create a frame

Post by rwebcon »

I have material 11” by 11” with an inlay. I want to cut a frame outline around the inlay to make it look like its mount in a frame. I can create the frame but the frame always slants towards the inside leaving a pocket around the inlay. I want to reverse the angle of the frame so that what was the outer edge is now the inter edge. Is this possible?

Mirror the sweep vector before you create the 2-rail sweep to flip it left to right.

Yes it is possible.

I did a frame a couple of years ago much the same.

Its all about the order of vector selection.

I don't remember exactly what I did, but there will be a specific order of selection

Inside first then outside or visa versa

If you have Aspire 8.5 you can save lots of cutting time by using the 'moulding toolpath.' It makes great frames and cuts much faster than 3D frame toolpath. Check out the tutorial: http://support.vectric.com/tutorials/V8 ... 25DTP.html

Thanks for the tip, I will give it a try. There are some many features in the software it hard to keep up with them all...
