Aspire with a Laser

Post by rmooreh »

Any one ever use Aspire to create files to cut on a laser. If so how did it work out for you.

Thanks.

Yes I use Aspire as part of my workflow on the laser.

I use Aspire to vectorize and for vector editing. I export the vectors as .EPS for Corel draw then convert to hairline width and assign colors for cutting or engraving.

I also use Aspire a lot creating files for my laser.

I don't go the CorelDraw route. Just one unnecessary step for me.

Export as AI and import to LaserCAD (my laser control software)

My husband has a CNC machine and uses Aspire. We recently purchased a laser. I use CorelDrawx8 for the laser. Is there a way to convert our Aspire files (which I know are 3D) into files I can use on the laser? I'm getting pieces and parts of the answer to this. Please advise.

Model/Export as grayscale bitmap, assuming your laser control software knows how to use grayscale. Kern lasers use grayscale.
