Tool Data Base

Post by vfauto »

I was hoping some of you more experienced users would be willing to share your tool data bases. I am an occasional user (not drugs) of Aspire and feel my tool specs are not all set up the best way. For example I added a 30 degree v-bit and guessed at the specs based off of a 60 degree v-bit and it took 6 hours to carve what should of been maybe a hour at max. Also if there is any videos or documentation on how to set up bits please let me know.
Thank You
Frank

Feed and speed settings are part of the learning process of using a CNC. If you use someone else's settings they may be totally inappropriate for what your machine/material/bit combination is capable of and you could end up damaging your machine.

The manufacturer of the tool should supply you with the ballpark figures for the tool from which you can work.
