Moving vector components
I tried searching for this, but my wording is probably wrong. I wish to move a portion of one file to another. I just need the vectors.

Re: Moving vector components
Select the vectors you wish to move.
Copy (Control C) , or Cut (Control X)
Open the new file. You probably should make a new layer active so the moved vectors can by easily selected and manipulated.
Paste (Control V)

You can have two instances of the software running simultaneously by holding down the shift key and starting the software. Copy and paste from one project to another. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.FixitMike wrote:Select the vectors you wish to move.

Re: Moving vector components
You don't need to hold down the shift key to have multiple instances. Just start the program in the normal way.

Re: Moving vector components
Since I normally start from the "quick start" tool bar (single click) on my Win 10 machine, I need to hold the shift key to start a separate instance of the program, otherwise it simply minimizes and restores the current copy. I tried launching by double clicking the desktop shortcut icon and it does indeed start without holding the shift key. Learned something new!Adrian wrote:You don't need to hold down the shift key to have multiple instances. Just start the program in the normal way.

It may not be faster than shift+click but you can right-click on the icon in the "quick start" bar then click on the program icon in the pop-up menu (which also contains your recently open files).Mark's Wood Chips wrote:Since I normally start from the "quick start" tool bar (single click) on my Win 10 machine, I need to hold the shift key to start a separate instance of the program, otherwise it simply minimizes and restores the current copy.

Now that's neat!adze_cnc wrote: It may not be faster than shift+click but you can right-click on the icon in the "quick start" bar then click on the program icon in the pop-up menu (which also contains your recently open files).
