can anyone help coverting to dfx

Post by Xxray »

Kinda rush job, going to do it for material cost only considering the recipients here.

2D probably edge lit, no intention to go 3D. Put a few hours into it and still coming short ,,, Text am not worried about, but details like the eagle/shields are coming up pretty badly.
If any of you wizards [which I should be after 5+ years] feel like gibing it a go, I'd be much obliged.

Doug, I'd be willing to help, but I'm just not fast enough at creating vectors yet.

Have you tried to contact the organization and see if they have a copy of the original art work. I'd bet it was done in Illustrator or other vector based app.

What is your deadline?

Doug,
Decided to give it a try. Haven't fixed some of the open vectors and haven't built the center shield. Thought I'd see if I was going in the right direction before continuing.

As for the eagle drawing I googled for "Eagle Drawing" and came up with this https://www.google.com/search?q=eagle&b ... le+drawing You may find a suitable image. I would try googling for any of the difficult images.
Hope this is helpful.

Phil

HP nice job. Only thing I would change is to elongate the beak a work it over a bit. Rest looks superb.

Thanks Dwayne,

Finished the eagle at 4am this morning, was getting a bit punchy, had to hit the sack for a bit. :D :D :D

Think you're right looking at the eagle again now.

Dwayne,

I reworked the eagle a little bit. Still no work of art but a bit better.

HP much better. I actually touched the eye just a bit.  He just had that kind of death stare. XxRay should like that it will look tight on an edgelit.

Dwayne,

Nice touch. I'm not too sure how much all this fiddling with the eagle is going to help though. Unless Doug plans on making a very big edge lit sign the eagle is going to be just a smudge :D :D :D

True I was working on a 12 x 12 piece lastnight when I crashed my drag bit. Was a sweet piece too

Thanks John and all, won't have the time to mess with it until later but I'll post back ... I know the eagle is somewhat of a mess, size will probably be in the 12x12 area, am confident drag bit can pick up every bit of detail there is [which can be both good and bad]
Did this mayan edgelit some time back, drag bits are capable of very fine detail if the vectors are in order

Very pretty piece Doug. I have edge lit signs on my list of things to get Round-To-It.

Design a little more complex than I had thought, this is what I came up with.

Will post back if/when I make it, looks like a go at this point - Any criticisms welcome.
