3D tab not updating

Does anyone else have the problem of the 3D tabs not updating? When for instance I do a pathing and want to see it in 3D I have to click the center object button on the top right then i can see the display. When I say preview I can see various router marks going all over the screen like its supposed to do but i don't see the part at all again till I recenter the object. What's odd is if I do a new design it all works great but when I save it and reopen (or open for instance one of the free projects) this behavior happens. The previous trial version I had did not do this, only the licensed newest 8.5 that I just got.
