Screen Setup

Post by Ms Wolffie »

Since I changed to Windows 10 the firum comes up like a spreadsheet :(
I would much rather have the old look.
Anyone know how to get it back?
Cheers

Not sure what you mean. It didn't change for me when I moved to Windows 10. Perhaps somehow you've had the old version stored in your browser cache and now you've picked up the new version that has been live for a few months?

Have you got a picture of what you're seeing?

I haven't noticed any change to the forum either but windows 10 does install & update it's own drivers, one thing I did notice was that it had changed the driver for my monitor & changed the default resolution I had set on one machine.

Mrs Wolfie, are you using your own browser such as Firefox or chrome, or are you using the new browser from windows? It's called "edge" I believe?

Maybe it has to do with the browser trying to rotate the screen as you are in AU

Wolfie...
Make sure that you have the screen resolution and browser zoom level set the same.

can you attach a screen shot of what the forum looks like on your browser wolffie, do this by pressing the print screen button on your keyboard, paste it into paint(software preinstalled with windows 10) save it and upload it as im intrigued to know whats happened and i could then offer a solution, no updates to the forum's UI have happened since i have been working for Vectric.

The text in the browser itself (the address bar and your favourites) is the same colour so it looks like a Windows issue or hardware fault rather than anything to do with the forum itself.

How do other programs and websites look? Are they all ok?

I just checked, all my forums look the same :(
Wish I knew how to fix it.
I don't usually use this PC for forums but my windows 7 PC has just died, so I do not have an option until the other one gets fixed.

This to me looks like a contrast theme installed onto google chrome itself.
I tried to replicate this on my machine by choosing a high contrast theme under the windows system, chrome instantly asked if i would like one installed onto the browser too, which instantly changed the way everything looked on websites too.

I would check your plugins, as judging by the amount of icons you have towards the top right of your browser you have a good few installed. click each of the icons to see what each one is doing, or simply remove the plugins by right clicking the icons and remove from chrome browser.

I imagine this will solve your problem.

I actually use the latest Mozilla Firefox and those plugins are always there, I just drag them out when I use them, with 2TB memory, I can afford to have them up.
Apart from that, I remembered that this started when I first loaded the forum on this PC, it was bought with Win 8 already loaded.
