I am new to Aspire and trying to figure everything out, but I was curious if anyone has used Aspire to create 3d designs to then add into custom laser work. I have the cd of pre made animal designs, but when I try to send the file to my laser I am also engraving the bounding box and the nodes.
I would love to hear any suggestions on this, some of my work is just to small for the shopbot and the laser can add in those special details nicely!
Thank you!!

The 3D laser engraving I've seen was done using a gray scale image.
How small are you talking about?some of my work is just too small for the shopbot

Re: Using Aspire for 3d Laser Engraving
I am currently testing this using the design and carve wildlife patterns and when working with an image the pattern is a grey scale image so I thought it should work well. My issue is that when I send it to the laser I am not just sending that image, it has an outline box too. I almost feel that I need to break it apart to send just that graphic to the machine.
I was hoping to add in the 3D engraving to 4x6 plaques and have the 3D piece as small as an inch or two.
Thanks!

On the ShopBot you might try a 1/32" ballnose bit at a 6% or 8% stepover. That may give you the detail you are looking for on 1" or 2" designs.

I have an epilog mini and i was wondering the same thing. I use corel 12 draw. I wonder if you can send the image and then save it as a corel file.
