finishing tool path help please

Post by studysession »

Not sure how to properly make multiple finishing tool paths.

I want all of the finishing to be nice and smooth which is why the big area I was doing the finishing with a 0.25 inch ball nose bit. But the neck pocket I want to have very sharp corners at the bottom.
How do I make just the neck pocket finished with a 0.25 end mill and the rest finished with a ball nose?

When I use the vector boundary button it does not create vectors for the neck pocket.

Thanks -
Keith

Hi Keith,

I think you need to use the 3d finish pass for everything but the pockets, and then use a separate pocket toolpath for the neck and pickups....you may need to draw a vector for the neck pocket by itself....
