High Bas-Relief?

Post by vicartbytes »

Hello there! I fell in love with CNC when I saw this stuff from Evoke Concrete.

I know the basic route in which they took to get this effect. Had a sculptor create the small scale piece, laser scanned it, blew it up and output it to Artcam to CNC it. I do own a NextEngine 3D scanner but I want to create a 3D scene in something familiar to me like Poser or Daz3d. In there I can pose people, cloth them & really have the control.
I found this site while searching for an easy method to create Bas-reliefs. Its using Blender with a patch installed. I had a good programmer friend re-build Blender with this patch and it seems to work, just difficult to move around in! Here is the link.

This would probably work well if I could get around inside Blender well but I can't for some reason! Is there any other way to do this?
Best
