Modeling assistance

Postby cconway » Wed Dec 05, 2018 5:49 am

Well this is my first real modeling attempt in Aspire. I guess if you are going to dive in it might as well be all the way. I have managed to trace or freehand all my components in, but I am having a hard time getting things to add or merge and so on so that the model looks right. Not sure if I should be adjusting base height or shape height. Additionally, I would appreciate any input on how to improve the model. No one is going to hurt my feelings, for me its about learning and becoming better. I have uploaded the file to my Google Drive since it is to large to upload directly. Thanks and here is the link to the file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1kGoYf ... rKNItSiMnT

I would change all the components to "Merge" and adjust the base height as needed..
Don't forget about the "Tilt" and "Fade" options as well.
They come in handy when items aren't working together.

You may want to look at this posting for help with the mantle.

Michael how do I get back in to adjust the angle of a component? When I created a components from the vectors I was able to set that, but if I want to change it how do I go about it?

There are several ways to get to the properties page of the selected component:
Double click on the component in the component tree.
Right click on the component in the tree and select "Properties"
Select the component and click on the properties button on the Modeling tab.

There are other ways also.

Yes Steve that is true, but I don't see where that allows me to readjust the angle of the shield in my model to use an example. When I created it initially as a component from the vectors I was able to set it as rounded at 27 degrees. If I wanted to change that to 30 degrees now how would I do that?

Thanks!

I have come across this a lot and I think you will have to re-create the component. You can adjust the shape height or the base height, tilt or fade but, as far as I know, there isn't any way to re-adjust the original angles without re-creating it.

Yes - that is correct.
