Post by gibl5s »

I am running a 3d file using aspire and while it is running it continually stops and thinks for a bit and then starts back. can anyone help me to run this smooth and steady?

How much free memory and disk space does your PC have when you're running Aspire?

A lot will depend on your set up, what OS, processor, ram, hard disk space, other programs open & background apps running

My laptop runs fairly slowly but its an older machine so I don't expect it to be lightning fast, because of that I do most of my design work on a desktop with a much higher spec

It may also be a 'look ahead' feature in the control software. If it's set low the machine can easily use the data faster that it receives it.

Is he talking about his machine, or Aspire?

gibl5s ...
I assume you are talking about pauses when cutting larger 3D files on your machine. Usually this is caused by slower computers with less than optimal RAM, which require a pause to reload more packets of code. In most cases this is normal on very large files, but it is not normal if it happens more often than 1 or 2 times an hour. Higher spec'ed computers with adequate resources seldom do this, except in the most rare cases. Upgrading the control computer is the solution.

Your question is a misnomer, you don't run files with Aspire [you create them].

Adding more RAM to your computer might help, as Gary stated control computer may need to be upgraded.
