question on bits

Post by skaha »

I am new to hobby, I notice most of the carving is done with v bits, 60 or 90 deg. by 1.25, I am using a portercable trim router that takes 1/4 bits, I have not seen a v bit in the above size with 1/4 shank. Am I just looking in the wrong places?
Thanks.

They make them with 1/4" shanks. I have a few. The only one I can read the name on is a Bosch #85220M. Be warned that this one does not have a "true point". In other words, it does not go to a sharp V. It has a 1/16" flat across the bottom. Sears sells them for sure.

Hey Shaka check out this thread for some suppliers of bits: http://vectric.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... t=supplier

You should be able to find the bits your looking for in that thread.
Take it easy.
