Just thought I would post a picture of my 'floating' dust shroud that I recently completed. The round linear bearings allow the brushed portion of the shroud to move easily up and in the z direction independent from the spindle/cutter height. This enables the shround to more easily navigate an uneven surface due to clamps or a wide variation in cut depth.
This is a skirt I made about 2 months ago. Works pretty good. I enlarged the intake hole in the back to help the 4" hole pull more. My strap is temporary till I think of some other quick connect method. I found the when my garge is cold, the skirt doesn't do well till things start warming up. This has dramatically reduced the dust but needs improvement. The Porter Cable router creates a large down blast. I since added a deflector to help point it towards the rear.
I'm pretty proud of this, it was my first serious routing on my router.
