Toolpath problem

Post by Phil »

I have a problem I don't understand. The attached CRV consists of four closed vectors. Toether they form a circle with an enclosed curved diamond. If I select all four vectors and VCarve a toolpath I get crazy results, some of the cuts are outside of the vectors. However if I select and toolpath one at a time or two closed vectors opposite each other I get the expected results. I'd like to use this design to create a border consisting of quite a few of the circles with the enclosed curved diamond. I should be able to copy and paste the design, select all of the vectors and create one toolpath. The way it works now I won't be able to do that. That's what I don't understand.

I see now that the file was bigger than necessary, but you have to adjust to your size.
( I work in metric.. )
I think your problem was that you had overlapping in the vectors.
The total circle was not good either, so I made a new one.

Thanks guys,

a few hours after posting the thread I guessed that the problem was overlaping vectors. I must have had it rolling around in my head. I hadn't gotten back to the computer until just now to check it out. It's interesting how defining a problem carefully can help you find an answer.

This is the border I wanted to design. Once again, thanks for the help.
