ToolPath Question

Post by FastCote »

Hey, Can you guys explain to me what i am seeing?

1.) I drew a simple part (see Drawing.jpg). It is alinged flush to the material edge on the left and bottom.

2.) I create a Profile toolpath and tell it to cut OUTSIDE. i would expect it to leave the left and bottom uncut. However, see other images.

Isnt it supposed to allow for the entire tool diameter and NOT touch the material on those sides?

Same here.

As to if it's not supposed to leave material untouch at the lower left side, well it depend on the renderer. Maybe Vectric want it to be like this. May be it is intend to have some kind of offset in the 3D previewer...?
I too find this a little confusing but noting that would stop me from going on. One of the wizard may very well chime in and tell us what's about it and if there's something to change about it.

Good observation; just make sure that your drawing's lower left point is REALLY at 0,0 with the MOVE tool.

I'm with Paco, I think it's just something in the previewer. I've never had any problems with parts not being the correct size.
Take it easy.
