Greetings,
Here is a question that I think saw somewhere recently, but my mind is a bit scrambled at the moment so forgive me if it is repeated.
I am using a CNC Shark Machine with VCarve Pro.
I was trying out one of the sample file that came with the VCarve Pro program (Wendy’s).
The original material size is W (x) 8.2677” x H ( y) 9.4488”
I wanted to adjust the size to fit a smaller piece of wood so I made the adjustment to want I wanted.
( W (x) 5” and the H (y) remaining the same)
So far so good.
I completed the remaining required information with the program to generate a code
( CNC Shark _USB (inch)(*.tap)
I loaded the code to the machine and off it goes, but shortly the machine is cutting way off the material
The exact line from the code is;
G01 X4.8686 Y2.0633 Z-0.0007 ( That sound about right)
The Position of the bit from the Control panel is this;
X 3.85875 Y 2.44500 Z -0.00125 ( it’s starting to drift)
Now for the really interesting part.
The actual location of the bit is;
X 6.5 Y 2.5 Z 0.000
So, any suggestions?
I am really looking forward to working with these programs.
Michael

Re: Incorrect XYZ
Hi, I'm not familiar with the CNC Shark.......does it use its own control software? It sounds like an effect of the settings in Mach3 to alter the scale of the vectors at the machine. Is there something similar in your control software?
Did you re-calculate and re-save the toolpaths in VCP after resizing your workpiece?

Re: Incorrect XYZ
The Shark does have it's own control panel, much simpler than the Mach3.
I changed the size of the vectors thru VCarvePro, then I saved the toolpath, so the machine should be only reading that file.
I did save the toolpath. I will give it another go around today.
Maybe it was something I did.
Could it be that there are problems with the motors?

Re: Incorrect XYZ
Hi,
I have a CNC Shark and love it.
Check that you set the origin that you want in the material setup menu. Make sure that you recalculate all the toolpaths. Make sure you zero out all the axis in the Shark controller panel to the same location you set the origin in the setup menu. That's all there is. Do a dry run with no bit to make sure the paths taken match what should be happening.
Can't think of anything else. Good Luck!!
