Design doesn't cut even close to project

Post by auga »

]So I created a Halloween image using Design and make Flat_Rectangle1 with wacky bat no. 1 on top on one side.

The tool path shows it as designed fine.

But when I cut it the rough works fine and many other project have.

But with the final it cuts a raised squre in the center 3rd from left to right with a very
nice beveled edge. I reviewed the project again and no idea where this is coming from.

below is the preview.

I checked to make sure my PP had not changed..

Here is the cut in progress. You can see the center 1/3 raised panel...

Makes no since where this raised panel comes from.

I think you have a 2.5d panel. I think almost everything on Design and Make is 2.5d .
So you are cutting a 3d panel. You may find people will ask for screenshots of the project
and tool settings. This will help the Pro's help you much better.Run the tool path simulation
and post a picture ?

Yes the the panel is a 3d or 2.5d d&m v3m file.

Here the finish machine setup for the final image.

If it looks right in the preview then you aren't dealing with a software issue.

I've occasionally been burned when I forgot to save out the new toolpath files and kept using an older one. Check the date/time on the toolpath files vs. the CRV file.

Also, which post processor are you selecting?

Hi,

By the look of the picture you have either lost position on Z during the finish cut or the tool has moved in the collet. It is extremely unlikely the toolpath Z values will have changed like that part way through the toolpath and as Randall said, if the same issue isn't apparent in the preview it will be a machine issue.
