You're going to just frustrate yourself if you're trying to use fit text to curve and kerning for a clock face.

Re: Clock Face - Spacing the numbers around a circle
I am posting two pics, one with the lines and one that I feel is finished. Please let me know how it looks:
Re: Clock Face - Spacing the numbers around a circle
As you can see, I have an outer ring and an inner ring. The clock numbers will be attached to both, but the material in between the outer and inner ring will be cut away. Does that make sense? Sorry for any confusion.

Looks pretty good from the pictures. I suggest kerning the 10, 11 and 12 to reduce the distance between the "1" and the second number.

I will kern them and see how it looks. One other question, would you suggest turning the "4" thru "8" around so they are not upside down?

Appreciate the help, thanks again. Now I just have to get the toolpaths figured out, so that the numbers are cut out and the rings are made correctly

Interesting question. I couldn't remember whether my clocks had the numbers shown as "upright" or "rotated" like your clock example, so I looked...
- All my clocks that have numbers (including my wristwatch) have the numbers UPRIGHT - not rotated like your clock example (although I don't see anything wrong with that)
- BUT - all my clocks that have Roman Numerals, the numerals ARE rotated
Funny I have never noticed or thought about it before. I don't know if it is universally customary to show clock numbers upright and Roman Numerals rotated or not
Thank you for your question!

I just now noticed from my photos that both of those clocks need new batteries!! Neither are showing the correct time

Re: Clock Face - Spacing the numbers around a circle
Hmmm, what I noticed so far from this is clocks with the numbers in an "upright" fashion, not rotated, as in Michael's first picture, have them all upright (makes sense, eh?), but those that have them rotated, no matter what type, as in his second picture, have them upside down around the bottom. Just a passing observation. I "personally" think the example that has the bottom numbers rotated to not be upside down looks odd to me.

So much I had never thought about clock numbers. I guess there are some standards, but there are always exceptions.

Re: Clock Face - Spacing the numbers around a circle
I think that the numbers rotated looks better (where the 4-8 are upside down.) Toolpath question: In order to make a cut through between the numbers, I want to create a profile toolpath right? How do I set it to cut around the numbers but leave the numbers attached to the outer circle and inner circle? I am assuming that would be a creation of more than one toolpath. Thanks for any help.
