7th Annual Midwest Camp ShopBot + Cabinet Making Seminar

Post by Tony Mac »

John Forney is holding his annual Camp ShopBot in Marion, Ohio and Vectric will be attending the event to demonstrate the software products, answer questions and talk about what’s planned for the future.

Midwest Camp ShopBot - Friday September 26th and Saturday September 27th
Cabinet Making with the ShopBot CNC Router - Thursday September 25th
  • John Forney
    Sawdust & WoodChips Ltd
    147 David Street
    Marion, Ohio 43302
    740 387-1547
To Register for the event please email - campshopbot@verizon.net

ShopBot Tools are very kindly sponsoring all 3 days and this event is Free for everyone to attend – you don’t need to own a ShopBot.

On Thursday September 25th John is running an all day "Cabinet Making with the ShopBot" seminar that will be a compilation of his 35 years cabinet and furniture making experience and we will also show how he uses the Vectric software to layout and cut parts on his ShopBot router. Ryan Patterson the developer of Cabinet Parts Pro will be showing his brand new updated software and will be cutting parts and assembling cabinets.

The following vendors will be attending and presenting at the Camp ShopBot on the Friday and Saturday
  • Franklin International. Adhesives
    Sherwin Williams. Finishes
    Sealeze. Dust collection brushes
    Mirka. Abrasives
    Northern Contours. Cabinet doors
Oakwood Veneer and Flexible Materials. Wood Veneers
    Cabinet Parts Pro. Cabinet software
    Onsrud Cutters
    Carve3D - James Booth
Hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm each day.
Thursday- Everything Cabinets
Friday and Saturday presentations on all the above. Show and tell, so bring your stuff.

Lots of presentations that are "how to type" not "buy this from me".

No cost to you – Free coffee, soft drinks and stuff in the morning and Pizza for lunch.

It would be great to hear from shopbotters / anyone who have something neat to share (maybe a new and better way) and can do it in 10 to 15 minutes. If it is really good maybe even more time.

Discussions will also cover hold down techniques (vacuum and mechanical), sale techniques, safety, materials, supply sources and just the general shopbot / cnc router type talk. Be prepared to share and remember counting ceiling tiles is the best way to be singled out.

For directions to John’s NEW 6000+ sq ft shop put in 147 Davids Street, Marion Ohio 43302 (Google has my street name wrong, it is actually David).

John has arranged special pricing at the Fairfield Inn.
Reservations must be made by September 1st.

Call direct and tell them that it is for the Camp ShopBot.

Any problems ask for Mary E. Hamby - the general manager.

The Fairfield Inn is the only hotel that would give us a discount and
they also have discount coupons for food at local establishments.
Ask when you check in.

Hey Tony,

I live in South east Ohio and want to attend the event in Marion.

I sent my name and request to the web site you provided last week but I haven't heard anything from them. Any suggestions?

Also I first heard about the event from Ryan @ CabPartsPro a month or so ago.

I have both of the Vectric and CabPP products and I would love to here what you guys have to say!

Thanks for your time,
Nick

HI Don,

I really want to go all three days but mostly on Thur. I have a small cabinet shop and really need to learn as much as I can so I can utilize my router a lot better. I live about an hour and half away from Marion so I think I'll try to hit all three days and pick everyones brains.

I sent an email to the provided shopbot address but haven't gotten a response.

Have you signed up/

Talk to you soon,
Nick

I think you only need to register for the cabinet seminar. I think the rest of it is an open forum.
By the way you'll be sure to recognize Tony, Brian and James by there accent.

I have nothing like your name that has registered. What email address did you send to? campshopbo t[ at] verizon.net

In any case, we are taking everyone who shows up at this point. We need registration info so we can have enough lunch, coffee and soft drinks.

I don't, as a matter of course, respond to people that just register, unless they have a specific question. Remember, I do this for free and I still have a business to run that has a year long backlog. No slight intended.

It didn't make it into my in box. Could you try again. I want to make sure that mail is getting in and not being bounced.

As far as a bother, it isn't. Just trying to explain for any one else that hasn't received a response.
