z axis not cutting thru
z axis not cutting thru
Another newbie. Trying to make a waste board for Shark HD 5 regular bed. Using scrap material so I don't ruin the MDF I have cut to size, did cut the outside dia pocket t nut fits, did a test for the inside post, went very well. so today I was trying, again on scrap material so make sure I set the depth of the t nut post to cut all the way thru. This is where my problem starts, I set the profile up just like the test I ran last night, only change was to the depth of the t nut post, I changed or at least tried to cut thru, its only went to a 3/8" depth and stopped. How do I change the z axis to cut thru?

Going to need a lot more information and ideally the file you're using so we can see your settings.
Did you recalculate and save the toolpath after adjusting the depth of cut? How far should it be cutting?

Re: z axis not cutting thru
It is possible you are asking the Z carriage to move beyond the lowest Z travel available. Try loosening the spindle or router clamp and moving the spindle or router down. Then reset the Z0.

Re: z axis not cutting thru
It may have been an operator error but it would be nice to know what that error may have been so that others may not create the same situation. Please respond with whatever it may have been.

Thank you for posting that.
It's pretty common when new at all of this.

Thank you for your response!
That is a typical newbie experience. It probably has happened to each of us at one time or another. I even have found that happen to me.
Thanks again for responding!
