Auto inlay

Post by freddeifk »

Hi,
I have started too use auto inlay tool , and the pieces are matching perfectly.

But The auto pocketing toolpath takes a very long thime too run,

I use too set the allowance too 0.30 mm and a clearanse tool , and that goes ok,
But when i switch the bit too the finnishing tool , it just go up and down the whole time until it finish , and that takes
A real long thime .

Why does it have too bee so ?
Why cant the bit runs as it normally would ,?
Or can i change that somewhere?

Can you post your CRV file? That will eliminate a lot of random guesses.

I remember someone else having a similar issue but I can't find the post or remember the solution. If you switch to the solid toolpath view (top toolbar) you can clearly see the parts where the toolpath is jumping around. Cleaning up the number of nodes on the vectors using Fit Curves to Vectors will reduce that by a large amount but not entirely.

Curve Fit Vectors (CFV) ,like Adrian said, even by .03mm shortens time/lifts a lot.
Check using different values?
Sorry I didn't save original vectors on hidden layer, but your toolpaths were not recalculated, just duplicated and calculated to new vectors.

Interesting. I loaded the original file "test.crv" into v9.517 and just recalculated the toolpath without doing anything else. Most of those "stitching" moves disappeared. All this without doing the curve refitting process.

Questions this raises are:
  • Is my version (v9.517) that much different from yours?
  • Did you do something that altered the curves but then you did not recalculate the toolpath?
