How to move/rotate part in double sided job

Hello!

I use VCarve Pro 9.518 at the moment.

In a double sided job I tried to move/rotate a part. But I can only select vectors of one side at a time.
Is there a trick? Or do I have to move everything to one side first?
Then move/rotate and then move vectors back to other side?

Select a vector (or all vectors if that is appropriate). When selected, right click and chose "Copy to other side" or "Move to other side". Repeat as required. The moved/copied vectors will be available for selection when you work on the other side of the job. You can see vectors on the other side as pale gray lines.

But I know how to move vectors from one side to another and how to align vectors (front/back).
The problem is: If all is finished and setup and than you decide to move things a little than you have a problem.
You can not select vectors on both sides at the same time.

I didn't look at Gary's post... but you answered your own question. The only way that I know how is to delete one side, edit it, and then re-copy it back. easy peasy.

I would only like to know why Vectric does not offer this possibility.
Just wanted to be sure that I didn't miss anything.

There is a workaround (a bit manual but could be less involved than moving things across sides. This makes use of our ability to snap to vectors / key points on the other side if the opposite side is visible.

1. For the side with the larger vectors (let's assume it's the top side), create a bounding box around the vectors (While having the vectors selected, shift+click the rectangle tool). Copy that bounding box vector to the other side.
2. On the top side, move your vectors (including the bounding box vector) to the desired location.
3. On the bottom side, select the vectors you wish to align (including the bounding box vector you've just copied). Click again to go into transformation mode. Using the mouse, drag the vectors (by one of the bounding box's edges) and move them over the faint bounding box's edge (the one on the other side). You should be able to snap to that edge point.
4. Delete the bounding boxes on both sides.

Notes,
1. The bounding boxes only serve to provide a reference point which you can snap onto while dragging.
2. You have to have double-sided viewing mode enabled so you can "see" vectors on the other side.

I'm afraid you haven't missed anything. The problem we have is that a lot of operations rely on your selection and if you were to "accidentally" select vectors on the opposite side (which would be easy in that case), we would run into unintended results and ambiguity on where the result of those operations would reside. So everything we've thought about so far was envisaged to complicate people's life further (special selection mode, or more branches to each operation to deal with what happens if vectors from both sides are selected similar to layers, or even introducing new concept like parts / multi-sided mega groups). So yeS, that's the dilemma at the moment, sorry about the inconvenience.
