Selecting only the white stripes

Started with putting in material size, imported patriots logo put border around that, the imported Flag and sized it, and cut the stars and the thru stripe lines that I didn't want, so far so good, no open vectors, but attempted to select the white stripes for carving and all I can select is the red on top or the last red stripe. hope file attached. Thank You

There's no file attached. I would guess that the intermediate stripes aren't stand alone vectors but are connected to others. Looking at a picture of the logo the white stripes would appear to be part of the outside shape and the colour comes from the background. Vector files for something like that are made for visual purposes not machining. You often need to create new vectors by offsetting, cutting etc depending on what you want the final result to be.
