Well I would hope that it works for you, but this is what I get....

Looking at the link you posted, it's not a share link it a link directly to your Dropbox. This won't work. You have to create a share link to the file and share that link.

Thanks John,
You are very patient. I followed a dozen tutorials on how to set up a Dropbox account and post a link. Maybe this will work.

First - You have not adjusted model in material to leave material for a post. This is done in the Material Setup under Model Position in Material.
Gap above material - .1166 Model Thickness - .485

Tool paths -
Roughing -- check selected vectors - Boundary offset 0.0 Machining allowance 0.0 Select both vectors circles then calculate. Changed to 3d Raster Along the x too
You Can change any of these settings to suit yourself after we get a post.
Finishing -- check selected vectors also. Select both vectors circles then calculate.

A bit exaggerated but this is what I have achieved with your file thus far.

Good Luck!

Robert,

Vectric has a kinds of tutorial videos and there are a number of videos on YouTube also that can help you.

There are some things that take more time to learn how to do than some of the other tasks. As with 3D models added to our carvings. You might want to watch as many videos as you can on this subject. For example What does a Zero Plane do and how does it affect a model within the material being carved? And many other aspect that affect the carving (Raster angles and the like).

We all as beginners want to just jump right into carving but unfortunately it takes a lot of homework before you can just jump right in!

Just some Thoughts!!! :D

Oh and yes we are here to help too!!! :)

Thanks Sharkcutup,

I am all for watching the tutorials, watched all the V Carve ones over and over. I started with the Aspire ones a month ago but am still
confused as to which ones can help me. So far I have not found the right one. I will keep pecking at it and eventually upgrade to Aspire.

Robert,
Sorry didn't mean to leave you hanging, I had to leave town for a few days.

Sharkctup has given you the answer.

But if you like video tutorials, here's from start to finish what you need to do....

Sorry for the jerky mouse moves, I'm using a trackball and my thumb isn't happy about it....
