Using multiple tools for pocket toolpath.

Post by FixitMike »

Well, it looks like version 10 does not include using multiple tools in the pocket toolpath.

But my hack works.

Use the VCarve toolpath, specifying a V bit with a .05 degree angle. Then you can specify whatever end mills you want for the pocketing. Ignore the V bit toolpath, and run the other toolpaths. The resulting cut will have an extremely small amount of extra material. (.0004" on a 1" deep pocket.)

Correction: Versions 9 and 10 have the ability to use 2 tools for a pocket. My hack enables the use of more.
