Hi.
I would like to use the nesting-function to place different jobs next to each other.
That worked good for the 5 panels shown below in the video.
But when I try to nest the bigger panel (on top of the other 5 smaller panels) then vcarve moves the holes but I want to have the hole panel beeing moved TOGETHER and not every single hole to a new position. a
(i tried to group the panels individually and tried to move them on seperate layers but that does not work)
Any idea?
Thanks!

Re: Nesting ignores grouped objects
Check that the large rectangle vector is a closed vector and not open. If you notice it has vanished from the nesting. With versions prior to 10 an open vector would be deleted as part of the nest. With v10 the open vectors aren't deleted but it still wouldn't nest as you want as the rectangle isn't enclosing the holes.
Re: Nesting ignores grouped objects
Hmm, I think iam pretty sure that alll vectors are closed. Still problems.
Here's the dxf file... I do have V 7.514.
Does it work with your Version?

Re: Nesting ignores grouped objects
That file nests fine for me in V7 and in V10. Could you attach the actual CRV file you're using? The video you showed the large rectangle is 100% not a closed vector as that is the only way the nest would delete it like that. If I cut the rectangle on a node so it's open but looks closed I get exactly the same results as you as I would expect.

Re: Nesting ignores grouped objects
That file is nesting fine for me in all versions that I have. There are no open vectors but, as I say, the only time I've seen the behaviour you showed in the video is when there is an open vector.
Re: Nesting ignores grouped objects
Hmm. Strange!
Did you just hit STRG+A to select all vectors and then start the nesting-function?
Thanks,
Roelli.

Re: Nesting ignores grouped objects
Drag select but it does the same with Ctrl-A. Only way I can reproduce what you're seeing is to deliberately cut the rectangle. I notice that the file you posted has the vectors in a different position to the video and not grouped. Are you sure you didn't join the vectors after shooting the video?
Re: Nesting ignores grouped objects
Hmm, maybe that was actually the problem.
I just tried it again.. and it works all the time! Cool!
