Just getting started, have done some other things, but direction was not that important. Tried to make my first sign today but the lettering is backwards. Y-axis is ok. Do I have the X-axis controller wired backwards?

Re: Backwards
Did you end up with a mirror image of what you wanted, or just an upside down but otherwise correct result?

Other things? as in what other things? Not to be too impulsive or rude, but you built a CNC machine from a magazine article and you are asking us about the connections? I'd love to help, but I would first need to see the vcarve file you are working with.

Re: Backwards
Sorry guys, trying to upload a photo from my phone and it is not working. The sign carves fine in the Y and Z axis but X is reversed. The sign has the words “BUT FIRST, COFFEE “ (starting on the left side), then an engraving of a copy cup at the end of the words (right side). When I carve it the coffee cup is on the left side then the words start but the words are backwards. So yes basically a mirror image on the X axis
