imported vectors skewed

Post by deanbaker »

VCarve 8.024.

I did the original drawning in Sketchup, did the second pass in AutoCAD. exported both as DXF/DWG.

horizontal lines are off at 3 degree angle, vertical 1.3 (leaning into the other) .... the degree and direction vary upon opening +/- 2 or 3 degrees (so far)

even tried reopening the files back in AutoCAD- they were good there.

Any suggestions on where to start trouble shooting this? or a good old "this is how to fix it" would be appreciated.

Many Thanks

This FAQ might help: What are some problems and solutions for importing DXF files?

This might be the first one to try:
try exporting the file again from the original CAD system in AutoCAD R12 or R14 format as these tend to be more compatible
