Good Morning. The question I have is this
I have a Shapeoko XXl CNC
It has the ability to have a piece of material that is 33 " wide and say 96" long set on the bed of the spoil board.
It can cut beyond the front by 3" giving it the ability to cut 30w"x 36l" or longer by moving the wood forward.
With this said. So I want to put a piece of plywood on that is 33 x 96 put some guides on either side to keep it straight and hold it down on the bed and still be able to move it forward to cut the next cabinet base side.
Cut dado's for the bottom, rabbit for the back, drill holes for shelves for a right side cabinet then pull it forward and do the same cuts for a left side.
What I am not sure of is how I would locate the next starting point for the second side after moving the material forward. I know I can design the tool paths for the 2 sides using material that is 33w x96long. using the top bottom left corner to set x-y-z
So I hope this all made perfect sense.
Thanks Jeff

Have you looked at the tutorials on tiling?
When it comes to indexing the material to move for each new tile there are a number of different ways it can be done from simple measuring to using dowels or jigs for more accurate placement.
on a 2 sided tiled job I would generally use dowels for registration.

Much easier to just program each part separately.
Cut part #1, and remove from table.
Slide Sheet.
Cut part #2, and remove from table
Slide Sheet.
Cut Part #3.

If the parts fit into smaller sections of wood why not just cut the wood into sections that size to start with. It will be much easier to handle.

I will look at the tiling and see if there is anything there that would relate to what I am trying to do.
And yes the cut and remove is a good option too

When I posted originally I thought this was to be all one piece of timber when you had finished, but if you are cutting multiple parts then I would simply use ger21 method which is much easier & less chance of making mistakes.
