All to often I have large parts with many hole sizes and different operations. I have drawings with 20+ layers for vector selection for tool automation. I often get 20+ tool operations as well.
Q: Can I get expandable menu folders in my layers and toolpath windows. I would LOVE to have subgroups in both these areas so I can keep my info clean and faster to sift through. Would be great if the sub group folders could be made visible and be hidden to help the program speed.
thanks for any info

You can't create subgroups for layers or toolpaths (other than via arraying toolpaths but that won't help you). You can uncheck the visibility of toolpaths individually or all together if that is affecting the program performance. You can also hide and unhide layers.

Re: Organization of layers and toolpath
Has anyone heard whether or not LAYER grouping will be an option in the near future??? I've been using the new "toolpath grouping" feature and it's made my CRV3Ds much, much easier to manage. Being able to do the same in LAYERS would be a HUGE boost to my productivity...
i.e. Today I'm looking at a file which currently has over 135 layers and yet I'm typically working on a small subset (10-15 layers) at any given time.
Also, as part of this grouping feature (or a short term fix while we wait) would be the ability to QUICKLY scroll / move layers up/down the list of layers. Currently if I create a new layer it defaults to the bottom of the list and I'm forced to click the UP arrow ~135 times to move it to the top of the list. (No, you cannot drag / drop a layer to a new location in the list.)
Also (in case someone from Vectric is reading) - After you create a new layer it would be nice if you could immediately Rename that layer without moving your mouse and clicking on it to activate the field.

Re: Organization of layers and toolpath
Why so many layers?
Generally I use the right click "Move To" to create new layers rather than using the layer manager. The naming is quicker and easier.
Best to send your request directly to support@vectric.com so they can add it to the list.

Re: Organization of layers and toolpath
The primary reason I use so many layers is because I keep everything segregated so I can easily refer to an "Automatic" toolpath which points directly to an entire layer almost all the time... Yes, I'll send a request and some screenshots to Vectric. Thank you Adrian!
