Nesting within a larger piece.

Post by Jordgrau1 »

I have a bunch of pre-cut pieces of MDF from my work and I am trying to cut out letters from that piece. Is there a way to get the pieces i'm nesting to stay inside of the MDF, or can i change the shape of my work area to match the pieces i am cutting from?

You should be able to do this if you combine your outside vectors representing the material boundary into a single vector. Once you have this if you select all your letters and then add the boundary vector as the last selected item you should be able to check the Last vector is nest boundary option. This should keep all the letters within that outer boundary you have defined.
For instance something like:

I had tried that in the past and it didn't work. When i dug into it i saw that my vectors were grouped and not joined together. I fixed that and it worked great! Thank you for the help.
