Adding bits to the tool list in Desktop

Post by RDavis4515 »

I am new to this CNC. I have a Shapeoko 3 XXL, I use v carve desktop. I recently purchased the whiteside CNC engraving set 708. I was wondering how to add the tools into the tool list. I don't know where to get the tip information I thought I had them entered right, but when I try to select one of the tools to carve a small sign with the material thickness of 0.173. Please help me out

I entered the tools in the data base. I need to figure out if I am putting the right size for each bit. Like the correct tip size I do not know where to get this information. Can any one help with that?

Whiteside site lists all the bits included....think you'll have to search each bit individually and snag the info.
.pdf and .dxf included, so all you have to do is enter them as an Engraving bit (or as VBit), depending on whether there's a flat or not on the tip.
Make SURE you look at the Database pic, and have the right angle described!!
