Font dir for vcarve

Post by CharliesWoodStuff »

My laptop has way too many fonts. Choosing one in text creation is cumbersome.

Rather than delete / move all the extraneous fonts to another dir, is there a way to point vcarve to a dir with only the few fonts I like?

No, all the fonts that are installed in Windows are used by VCarve. The only way to reduce the number is to remove them from Windows.

When selecting fonts you can type the first letter of the font name in the list and the list will then jump there which can make things a bit quicker.

Yup, too many fonts!

They are like offcuts of good lumber, just gotta have 'em!

It was driving me nuttier than usual a few months ago so I finally did a wholesale slaughter of them. Of course a few Windows fonts got erased in the process, but that turned out to be no problem. One can google "windows fonts" and then find a place to download them and reinstall. Worked good.

Now I only have a few thousand fonts that I will never use on my system instead of ten thousand or so. Just kidding, I really pared them down.

I keep a list of the ones I like for various types of lettering. It is a simple text file on my desktop so it opens fast.
