Hello,
I have my XCarve, VCarve and Xtransfer working together and I really like it. I have two issues:
I have to manually select the com port, then go back to USB port before my machine will initialize. Can I edit an ini file so it goes directly to my USB port without these manual steps?
When I use my touch plate, my Z axis seems to time out before reaching the plate. Plate size is correct and my xcarve.ini seem to be also.
Sorry if a bit vague, I'm trying to learn if I can fix it or if I report a bug. Will be happy to answer any more questions.
Thanks in advance,
Cary

Unless someone here is running a similar setup I'd expect you'll get more responses at the Inventables forum: https://discuss.inventables.com/
Re: VCarve and XTransfer
Inventables has nothing to do with XTransfer, and yes, I've been there.
Thanks, I'll figure it out.

Re: VCarve and XTransfer
Do you mean vTransfer rather than XTransfer?
I don't use it myself as it only applies to that particular type of machine but as far as I can see it should be remembering the settings. You can go to the File menu in vTransfer and choose Open Settings Data Folder to get to where the ini files are. Might be a permissions issue if it's not updating?
You'll probably need to contact Vectric directly as this is primarily a user to user support forum and only a small number of users would be running that configuration.

Re: VCarve and XTransfer
Hello, thanks again.
Very silly of me, but I found just jogging Z closer allowed the touch plate to work perfectly.
I found this line in the transfer.ini file:
DefaultComPortIndex=0
I thought I would ask here to see if anyone could shed light on this line before inquiring with Vectric.
Sorry for mislabeling the X and Z's I do believe it is ZTransfer.
Really not a pain to check ports, I just like learning about this.

Re: VCarve and XTransfer
Are you using the latest version of vTransfer? The latest version is 2.01. You can get it by patching VCarve first and then running the installer for vTransfer. The new version should have less connectivity issues.

Thanks Greg, I'll look into that.

Re: VCarve and XTransfer
Just wanted to update: After a new installation of XCarve 9.5 and VTransfer on a new motherboard, all works perfectly and the X Carve initializes instantly.
