hello. I need a little help. I created a hand saw no errors anywhere. I generate the gcode with no errors or warning, I run it through gwizard with one warning about coolant which my machine doesn't use. when I load in into mach3 and before
running there is not tool identified if I modify it with tool 1 it just goes back to zero. when I try to run my mill doesn't seem to think there is a tool in it. I raise it high enough to see what it is doing so I don't break bits it also does not turn on the spindle until after it is .2 into the wood. I use vcarve pro 9.5 and have a cncrouterparts machine. been working on this for a month!
no tool generated with gcode

Re: no tool generated with gcode
Some information that people might need before answering this:
- which post-processor was used when saving the g-code?
- why are you running that code through gwizard (whatever that is)?
- it's interesting that 0.2" is the default rapid move clearance gap---how are you setting your Z zero in the job setup (machine bed or material surface)?
- how are you setting your z=0 in Mach 3?

That's normal. Mach3 won't change the tool until you call an M6. If you don't have an Automatic Tool Changer, it doesn't matter if Mach3 knows what tool it is.when I load in into mach3 and before
running there is not tool identified
Increase the spindle delay in Config > Ports and Pins, Spindle Tab.
it also does not turn on the spindle until after it is .2 into the wood.
Or adjust your VFD so the spindle accelerates faster.

Re: no tool generated with gcode
im using cncrouterparts for post processor
gwizard is a program that checks your code for possible errors before actually running on the machine
the .2 is how far the bit goes into the wood for the first cut just to put a bevel on the saw blade
z zero is set for material surface
cant remember the name of the tool but with the tool in the spindle I set auto z zero and it goes to barely touch the tool.
I forgot to mention that I am extremely new to both the software and machine. this is the first time I actually tried to make a product itself (the hand saw). I have successfully used stl files and cut 3d pieces that come out great.
thanks in advance for all your help. I sure appreciate it.

sorry your correct mach 3 doesn't know what tool. on the files I have previously run successfully tool is always 0.
