Re: Help identifying a font
Which one Phil, there is more than one in your drawing by the looks of it.
Have you tried an online font identification site? Think it is my fonts that has one that is reasonably good called whatdafont (or something like that)
You upload a jpeg image & it will try & identify & offer suggestions

Re: Help identifying a font
You could always ask the bakeshop people if they could put you in contact with the graphic designer whom originally made the logotype.

Do you know how old that is Phil? Might be that it was originally Signwritten by someone, have you tried asking on the Letterheads forum since that is full of traditional signwriters

Re: Help identifying a font
How old is that image Phil, it looked to me like it could be quite an old drawing just curious
Re: Help identifying a font
I really don't know how old it is. The sign is from a small chain of bakeries on Long Island, NY.

Phil, the way that I would do this is pull the jpg file into a photo editor like photoshop and crop out the fonts you want. Since your font aren't completely colored, use a paint gun tool and fill in the fonts with black. (see attached) Then goto one of the many online font identity websites and upload the file. In this case I used https://www.fontsquirrel.com/matcherator which identifies it as closely matching 'a song for jennifer'.Phil wrote:I really don't know how old it is. Remember to google for online font identifying sites. Try several, or stick with ones you like. There are MANY that will identify your font relating closely to nothing but purchase fonts. Of course, you may see something that is better and worth paying a few dollars for... personally, I would not pay for any font since there are tons out there for free. good luck and hope this helped.

Depends on what you're using them for. Very few of the free fonts allow for commercial usage.ezurick wrote: personally, I would not pay for any font since there are tons out there for free.
