Not a software question however can you suggest a clamping method.
I would like to cut an octagonal pocket in base of a round wooden knob to attach to the roof.

Re: Clamping suggestion ?
1. Clamp scrap board to spoil board.
2. Zero XY to center of scrap board.
3. Pocket small to medium hole for ball to sit in.
4. Hot glue ball in hole. Ball is now at vertical center of hole.
5. Use saved XY and center bit over ball. Set Z zero to top of ball (should be be center of ball at this time).
6. Carve pocket in ball to selected depth.
7. Remove ball from glue. Denatured alcohol will remove hot glue.
The key is making sure the center of the scrap pocket doesn't move. It will now be the same as the vertical center of the ball. Now you can pocket on the exact vertical center. No guessing.
