Moulding Toolpath

Attached is my vcarve file for a yoga block that I am cutting out. The moulding toolpath is to cut a one inch by 1 1/2 inch curve all around the edge of the block. Everything works fine until it gets to 1 inch by 1 inch, then the tool plunges the last 1/2 inch in one pass. Can I fix this in the current path or do I have to add another tool path for the last 1/2 inch?

Ken if you zoom in really close to where the curved and the straight portion of the profile meet there is a jagged under cut. This would probably need to be cleaned up.

Would this cause the condition I am experiencing?

As Bob said move the jag at the bottom of the curve.

There's also an undercut at the base that needs to be removed.

The Moulding Toolpath doesn't do vertical sides. If your design can stand it, offset the bottom node by .01", that's enough to solve that problem.

In the Moulding Toolpath change the offset to .125" (half the radius of the BN)

Hope this helps.

So by moving the nodes out .01" makes the 1/2" line angled and so the moulding toolpath with cut it? Is that the logic?

Thanks. These are the types of issues you can't find answers to in the documentation. Great to have this forum.

Another option would be to leave out the .01" offset and in the Toolpath use a .25" BN in the "Use Larger Area Clearance Tool" and leave the rest of the setting the same. But the machining time will about twice.
