Preview Depth of V Carving

Post by carbidetooth »

Is there a way to preview depth of V carve toolpath in 3D view?

Software will warn if portions of carving will cut through set material thickness, but if I want to see how close I'm getting to that threshold is there a way to measure or visualize in wireframe?

Preview your Toolpath, then wave your mouse cursor over areas you want to view the depth of (pay attention to the bottom of your screen to view xyz dimensions as you move the cursor).

Also, every Toolpath has a “tooltip pop-up” when you hover over a Toolpath in your list. It displays the Deepest Depth amount, as well as other useful info

I assume you know to set a Flat Depth to Limit the VCarve max depth to whatever you want.

Thanks Michael, that's precisely what I needed. I should have noticed the coordinates changing in the display, but didn't know about hovering over toolpath. I do know about limiting carving depth, but in many cases I want the v's to form without flats at their bottoms.
