Trying to remember how I made this sign

Post by ramblecreekrustics »

I made a simple sign a few days ago where the letters were all outlined with a 1/4" endmill bit. The letters are not raised, but at the same level as the rest of the board. What part of the toolpath does this, is it the profile cut, or the pocket cut icon? So simple, I know, I did this with no problem, and now can't get back to where I did. I've read and watched videos until I have a headache. Can anyone point me to a video or just tell me which part of the program?

Thanks
Greg
Also, I'm trying to attach a photo

Could have been done with the profile or pocket toolpath depending on how you set up the vectors. Most likely it was a pocket cut. Make sure you have the outside and inside vectors selected.

Thank you I have spent 4 hours reading and trying to remember what I did. It was so easy I think I'm over thinking.

Did you save your Vectric File before exporting out your tap files? I made the mistake of not saving it once. Remember now to always save it as the Vectric file so I can always go back, reuse it, or look at it to recall what I did. If you have it saved, go back ad look at the tool paths you set up and see how you did it.

No I didn't save it, that's part of my problem. I was going to go into the file and make some changes to learn what the sign looks like when cut with different options, but I couldn't find it. So apparently I didn't save it. Lesson learned.
