Question which I have not been able to figure out, though I'm sure some math gurus can.
I have a fixed length line, say 4 inches. I want to change or create a "S" shape that is the same 4" from end to end.
Specifically, I have a 4" piece of cord that I want to put into an "S" channel.
I know, probably super simple, but for some reason it eludes me.

Re: Straight line to serpentine with fixed length
After you draw your "S" shape to approx. size, use the "Measure" tool and see how close you are and adjust accordingly. https://docs.vectric.com/docs/V9.5/Aspi ... 0Tool.html This is from the Help Guide I have circled in red the part of the measure tool I am talking about...joe

Re: Straight line to serpentine with fixed length
With no specific tool to do what you want you are left doing the trial and error method mentioned above.
Rhinoceros comes close to having a command to do what you want. The BEND command will curve an object and leave it's length more or less intact. But it only bends in one direction at a time and can't really re-curve the bent object well. So you need to split the entity and separately bend the two halves and re-stitch them together.
The attached image shows a 4 inch by 1/4 inch channel bent into an s-like shape by bending two separate halves. The black and blue shapes were bent separately then moved, rotated, and joined together.

Steven, That's exactly what I'm trying to do/figure out. I'm wishing Vcarve had that feature.
