Being in a wheel chair is not a requirement to get a crick in your neck talking to John .scottp55 wrote:Thanks for all the pics people!!

Thanks to the Vectric staff for another great users group meeting. I can only imagine how hard it is to organize these events. Well done.

+1.... I might be talked into a rotary yet. Your presentation cleared up quite a few questions. The answer is "the bigger the better", right Great presentation.

Another great event, I think this has been the best I've attended. The presentations were all great, the guest speakers were all polished and really interesting.
The Vectric team continues to impress me, they strive each time to do better than the last, and of course every one of them is really wonderful to talk with. Typically increasing the venue I see growing pains but this one seemed to work very smoothly even with such a large group. My only wish was more time; I think most of us are leaving wishing we had more time. Thank you Vectric, the guest speakers and all the friendly folks I met this time.

Other than the drive in the snow for 200 miles what a great weekend. Finally got to put a face to people from vectric and the forum. I think that the happy hours had their way with me, but I will survive.

Really cool! Thanks to all the Vectric people for putting on a great event. The only thing I'd change is turning it into a 3-Day event, so the presenters weren't so rushed. That wouldn't keep me from going again, though.
It was also great to put faces to names. I'm still buzzing from the information, and ideas. (Not all the beer & coffee)
My new 2020 project is to build a new lightweight gantry for my bulldog of a router. My goal is at least 200 IPM feed rates on 3D carves with no witness marks do to inertia on the cuts.

Re: We’re coming to DENVER! Save the date & book your place!
So this was my first Vectric meeting and I wasn't disappointed.
There are just a couple things I would change.
1) Distribute the USB contents to registered participants 1-2 weeks prior to the meeting via their Portal accounts. I say this because I copied some of the videos to my phone and watched them on the way to the meeting on the 2nd day. This really helped me grasp the material because I was seeing it the "2nd" time during the presentation.
2) Since this was the largest meeting so far (350 users), it was hard to see the speakers if you were too far from the stage. Maybe they could have a seperate camera and screen for that purpose.
3) We all got a swag bag, but maybe Vectric could have a little extra something for users who upgrade to the latest version during the meeting? I know they give extra clipart to anyone upgrading to 10 regardless. But the users that attend these meetings should get something that's only available if you upgrade during the meeting. I upgraded after seeing all of the features presented during day 1 anyway. But it would just be a nice extra if they added something that was exclusive to that meeting.
Although I don't have anywhere near the experience as some users at the meeting, my favorite sessions where:
1) Level clipping and Composition with Todd - Really wish it would have been longer.
2) Spilling the beans on text effects with Edward - So many good shortcuts. I've practiced this twice so far. The kerning tool is one of my favorites.
Also:
3) Great American Sign Automatal with Gary Johnson
4) Pictures & Textures with Edward
5) Slot Together Christmas Project with Todd (Offset out, in, in, out).
As soon as I catch up on paperwork, I'm going to be practicing more of these tutorials! And that is the best takeaway....Inspiration!
