peripheral carving
is there a way to generate a Gcode where the machine carves around a central 3D raised desgin without going through it when it moves from one corner to another?

With the Vectric products the only way I can think of is to set the material thickness the same as the height of the central 3D raised design. This may work for you, or the excessive air cutting may render the solution impractical.

I guess the question to ask would be: if you were to pretend that the raised 3D section was a clamp holding the work down how would you avoid hitting that clamp?
