Flag Union (Stars)

Does anyone have a 50 star union for a US flag?

Website might be useful www.usflag.org/images/specflag.gif. The site will provide you with the formula not only the union but also, the stripes. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. Does help in creating a union, but I was looking for
a .dxf (or similar) file of a complete union that I can import into VCarve.

It is easy enough to draw. I used Aspire. But here's a DXF file.

This is just what I was looking for. Thank you.

Now, if you don't mind another question.
When I imported and ran the file, the stars came out raised, I need them to be
engraved. I tried Profile, V-Carve, Pocket and Inlay and all produced raised stars.
I know I'm missing something, somewhere, but can't figure out where.

Using VCarve Desktop v.9.507

Only select the stars for the v-carve path?

Instead of using the V-carve/Engraving toolpath, use the 2D Profile Toolpath and Select "ON'. That way it will cut 'on' the vector instead of engraving between the vectors.

I suspect you selected the stars and a border around the stars for your toolpath. This will result in raised stars. Do not select the border for your toolpath.

If you want to do an American flag inlay would you still do a vcarve on the line with the stars?

A little different design on the flag. Every other stripe is v-carved along with the stars. Useful if you want to paint them.

Thank you all for the help, much appreciated.
Combining everyone's advice, I was finally able to create engraved stars.
