Newbie questions!

Post by GVP »

Hello,

I'm getting to grips with V-Carve wizard and cnc routing in general!

My first test cut has the tool scoring the top surface of the substrate - I notice in VCW the "Safe Z" is reading quite small 0.0394". How is this figure calculated, and is there a means to adjust it? Or if I'm on the wrong tack altogether, what should I be doing instead?

Any help appreciated!

Hello GVP,

In VCarve Wizard the Rapid Clearance Gap = SafeZ height.

This is specified on the Material Setup form which is the 1st icon on the Toolpath Tab as shown below.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
