changing cutter start position.

Post by cusoak »

I am doing some plaques that have a rectangle with internal corners. I am going profilecut it with a 90 degree .5 dia vbit.
Every design I do put the start position on the internal corner.
I cant seem to figure out how to move that start point to to a long straight side.
Can you point me in the right direction to find out how to change this.

Enter node editing by selecting the vector then press N, move the cursor over the node you want to start at and right click, choose Make Start Point.

Once you've changed the start node position you need to make sure that the toolpath has the correct settings to use that change. Make sure that "Show advanced toolpath options" is checked at the top of the toolpath and then click on the Start At tab. Keep Current Start points needs to be selected to use your defined start points.

However you may find it easier to just leave the start nodes where they are and use the bottom option in the Start At tab which will automatically start the toolpath at one of the pre-defined points shown.
